UAE Bans Its Citizens From Travelling To 14 Countries Including India
The United Arab Emirates took a massive step and banned its citizens from travelling to 14 countries, including India and Pakistan.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government on Friday banned its citizens from travelling to 14 countries, including India and Pakistan, in a major step to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced that its citizens are banned from visiting India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Namibia, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa, and Nigeria.
"The UAE's diplomatic missions, emergency affairs, official delegations, and already-authorized trade and technical representatives in the above countries are exempted from this decision," a statement issued through the UAE's official news agency WAM said.
On Thursday, 1,675 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the UAE, while eight people died. On July 1, the total number of cases in the UAE was 6,34,582, while a total of 1,819 people had died.
