Russia Ukraine Crisis HIGHLIGHTS: With the tension between Russia and Ukraine worsening, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba on Tuesday said Russia was holding 300,000 civilians hostage in Ukraine's besieged city of Mariupol.
Dmytro also accused Russia of violating the ceasefire agreements and shelling the humanitarian corridor from Zaporizhzhia to Mariupol.

On the other hand, Russia agreed on opening humanitarian corridors in Ukraine to allow civilians caught in areas of conflict to flee.
However, Kyiv is not convinced and called the move a publicity stunt.
Ukraine argued that people caught in the conflict will not be able to escape as the humanitarian corridors either lead into Russia or its ally Belarus.
Kyiv also said that Russia has maintained shelling and is increasing its troops and equipment around the main conflict zones.
Meanwhile, in yet another setback for Vladimir Putin, United States President Joe Biden has banned Russian oil imports, another sanction that will hit Moscow's economy in response to its invasion of Ukraine.
While making the announcement, Biden said: "We are banning all imports of Russian gas, including oil and energy.
Similarly, the European Union (EU) has also said that it is looking at ways to reduce its dependency on Russian gas, oil and coal.
As the Russia-Ukraine war continues to escalate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday has spoken on the phone to the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, and discussed the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
The PMO in a statement said Modi, in the telephonic conversation, reiterated India's consistent appeal for cessation of hostilities and a return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy. He welcomed the ongoing talks between Russia and Ukraine and hoped for an early resolution to the crisis.
