Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Blasts Rock Parts Of Ukranian Capital Kyiv After Putin Announces Military Ops
Blasts were also heard in Kharkiv and other Ukranian cities.
Moments after Russain President Vladimir Putin ordered "military operations" in Ukraine, blasts were heard in the capital city Kyiv.
News agency AFP also reported blasts being heard in Kharkiv along with the eastern port city of Mariupoland. The blasts were said to be powerful. Some residents of Kyiv and Mariupoland also reported hearing artillery fire after Russain President Putin's order to "demilitarise" the country.

Putin on Thursday announced 'military operation' in Ukraine to defend separatists in the east of the country. "I have made the decision of a military operation," declared Putin as quoted by AFP.
The Russian president also threatened retaliation against those who challenge Russia's action in Ukraine.
"Anyone who tries to interfere with us, or even more so, to create threats for our country and our people, must know that Russia’s response will be immediate and will lead you to such consequences as you have never before experienced in your history," Putin said in a televised address.

Amid rising tensions between both the countries, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appealed with the Russian President to stop military actions in Ukraine and "give peace a chance."
Meanwhile, India has also called for an immediate de-escalation of the conflict. While speaking at the UNSC meeting today, India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations TS Tirumurti said," India calls for an immediate de-escalation amid the heightened tensions between Moscow and Kyiv. The situation is in danger of spiraling into a major crisis. If not handled carefully, it may undermine security. The security of all parties should be taken into account."
