PM Modi in Singapore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome from the Indian diaspora as he arrived in Singapore for a two-day visit. The Indian community had organised a cultural event to welcome him in the south-east Asian country. During the event, PM Modi joined in as he played the 'dhol' (drum) with the artists who were performing for him.

PM Modi shared the visuals from his "vibrant" welcome and thanked Singapore for it. In the video, PM Modi can be seen enjoying the cultural performances when he walks over to an artist playing the drum and takes it over from him. He can be seen playing it without missing a beat while the artists continue their performance and the Indian community gathered there cheers him on.

Sharing the video of PM Modi joining the artists during his welcome, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis wrote on X: "When Maharashtra’s enthu, culture & festive vibes are felt in Singapore too, Hon PM Narendra Modi ji joins it, plays the Dhol perfectly, without missing a single beat!"

In another video of his welcome, shared by PM Modi himself on X, he can be seen meeting the Indian diaspora members gathered to meet him. He was seen giving autographs to them in the backdrop of a lively, festive atmosphere filled with Indian music and dance.

Earlier today, PM Modi shared in a post on X about how he was looking forward to the meetings in Singapore, aimed a boosting the friendship between both the countries.

"Landed in Singapore. Looking forward to the various meetings aimed at boosting the India-Singapore friendship. India’s reforms and the talent of our Yuva Shakti makes our nation an ideal investment destination. We also look forward to closer cultural ties," he wrote.

PM Modi's two-day visit is aimed at boosting India-Singapore friendship, deepening ‘strategic partnership’ and attracting investment from the Southeast Asian country. During his visit, which followed after an invitation from his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong, PM Modi will connect with three generations of Singapore’s leadership, officials in New Delhi said.

This is PM Modi's fifth official trip to Singapore. Modi, who last visited Singapore in 2018, is accompanied by Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and other government officials. He had arrived in Singapore on September 3 after concluding his Brunei visit, which was the first bilateral visit by an Indian PM.
