'Beadbi' At Pakistan Gurdwara: BJP Leader Posts Video Of Film Crew Shooting With Shoes On, Demands Action

The purported video shows a devotee at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Pakistan arguing with members of a film crew, objecting to the shooting as the crew members are seen wearing footwear inside the premises.

New Delhi: A film crew entered the premises of Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Pakistan's Punjab province while wearing shoes and shot a film scene there without permission, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa claimed.

He tweeted a purported visual of the incident and wrote, "Blasphemous actions continue in Pakistan: Sharing a video of BEADABI in Gurdwara PanjaSahib, where a film crew was allowed to shoot for a movie in Gurdwara premises. Earlier we saw similar pictures of frivolous acts on premises of Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib."

According to news agency ANI, a group of men wearing shoes was seen walking inside the Gurdwara Panja Sahib in the Hasan Abdal area of Attock District in Pakistan's Punjab province. The film crew was shooting a film 'Lahore-Lahore A' inside the Gurdwara, ANI reported citing local reports.

The crew entered the gurdwara wearing shoes, it offended the devotees who reportedly scuffled with the crew and shot a video of the incident.

The video shows a devotee arguing with members of the film crew, objecting to the shooting at the gurdwara premises. In the purported visual, it can be seen that the crew members were wearing shoes inside the premise of the Gurudwara.

In his video message on Twitter, Sirsa condemned the incident saying, "A film crew who were shooting a film inside the Gurudwara Panja Singh on September 29, entered while wearing shoes, which angered the devotees. One of the devotees recorded the incident and complained about it, but the Pakistan government detained that person instead of taking action against the culprit."

The BJP leader further claimed that a local Sikh informed him the devotee who complained about the incident is missing and the locals have been threatened against sharing the video of the incident.

Seeking action against the film crew involved in the incident, Sirsa urged the Indian government to take prompt action and raise the issue with the Pakistani government.

"The Pakistan government continues to ignore acts of Beadbi against the Sikh religion. Instead of taking action against the culprits who did the "Beadabi" and entered the gurdwara with shoes, it is taking steps against those who reported the event. We condemn this blasphemy in the strongest words. I urge the External Affairs ministry and the government of India to take up the issue with the Pakistan government and take prompt action against it," he said.

Last year, a Pakistani model was strongly criticised over her bareheaded photo at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. The young model Sauleha received a lot of criticism on social media for posing without a headcover inside the Kartarpur Sahib and the Indian government also registered its displeasure over the incident by releasing a statement.

The model later issued an apology for unintentionally hurting their sentiments stating that she respects the Sikh culture. Know More: India Conveys ‘Deep Concern’ After Pakistani Model’s Bareheaded Photo At Gurdwara Darbar

Meanwhile, official responses pertaining to the fresh incident of the alleged "beadbi" (disrespect) are awaited.
