WATCH: Don't Hurt It, Says Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel As Snake Sneaks Into Press Conference

A snake appeared when Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was about to start his press conference on Monday morning in Bilaspur district of the state. Bhupesh Baghel stopped them from attacking the snake and also asked them to let it go and requested the people to not kill the snake. In a video posted by news agency ANI on X, Baghel was heard asking people, officials and media persons present at the site not to worry and hurt the snake. People started to panic on seeing the snake and attacked the snake and also tried to kill it but Baghel said “Pirpiti hein', don't hurt it.”

The incident happened when a snake suddenly emerged from nowhere during Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s interaction with the media. Notably, the CM asked the officials present on the spot to bring a plastic bag and put the snake in it and leave it in some other place.

Bhupesh Baghel also mentioned the type of snake which was a "Pirpiti" in this case. He said it is a non-venomous snake and does not usually harm anyone. The Pirpit snake is a non-venomous species of snake, which is generally found in regions across Asia.

Moreover, these are usually non-aggressive also and are commonly found but rarely seen species of snake. Co-incidently, Naga Panchami, a festival to worship snakes, is being celebrated across the country on Monday.

Meanwhile, talking to reporters, Baghel said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is coming to Raipur on September 2 to address a gathering of the youth from the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club.
