Toyota Yaris Facelift Launched; Priced Between Rs 8.65 Lakh and Rs 14.07 Lakh

It now gets a segment-first dual-tone exterior option and new variants

In a move to push sales and stay competitive in the small sedan segment, Toyota has launched the Yaris facelift with a reshuffled variant list and aesthetics. The refreshed model is now priced at Rs 8.65 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). In terms of engines, Toyota has stuck with the same 1.5-litre petrol unit as before. It puts out 107PS and 140Nm. This unit comes mated to a 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed CVT automatic gearbox too. Along with the existing four variants, Toyota has added three new variants to the lineup. Here’s the full price list list of the Yaris (ex-showroom pan-India): Toyota Yaris Facelift Launched; Priced Between Rs 8.65 Lakh and Rs 14.07 Lakh
  • The Yaris is now priced from Rs 8.65 lakh, which is a reduction of Rs 64,000 from the original starting price.
  • Yaris gets more affordable variants for its J and G trims in the form of J and G Optional variants.
  • Toyota has kept the price factor in check by providing three airbags (driver, front passenger and driver knee) as standard instead of the earlier seven.
  • Safety features in the higher variants of the Yaris include front parking sensors, up to seven airbags, vehicle stability control, hill assist, reverse camera, and front and rear fog lamps.
  • Some features are limited to the new V Optional trim like the new dual-tone exterior paint option, gloss-black front grille and ORVMs and new-diamond cut alloy wheels.
  • Toyota is offering four colour options with the dual-tone Yaris: Wildfire Red, Grey Metallic, Super White and Silver Metallic.
  • Leatherette upholstery and leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearknob is now offered from the V Optional variant. It was previously limited to the top-spec VX variant.
  • The V Optional, unlike the J and G Optional variants, is pricier than the regular V-grade trim and decreases the price gap with the top-spec VX variant.
  • Toyota continues to offer features like tyre pressure monitoring system, roof-mounted AC vents for rear passengers, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display and cruise control amongst others in the Yaris.
  • The J and G Optional variants come with a new accessory package that includes front splitter, rear bumper spoiler, bootlid garnish, side moulding, centre console box, mood lighting and leather seat covers.
  • However, the infotainment system misses out on Android Auto and Apple CarPlay but these are available as an extra on the J and G Optional variants.
The reduction in the prices and the introduction of new variants should help the Yaris in its fight against the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
