Tamil Nadu Lockdown Extension | M.K.Stalin Announces Complete Lockdown Till June 7
In a view of the rampant spread of corona infection in the state, M.K. Stalin extended the ongoing lockdown till 7th June to bring the virus under control.
Chennai: To curb the spread of coronavirus completely in the state, the Tamil Nadu government has announced lockdown till June 7. On Friday evening, Chief Minister took to Twitter to announce the extension of complete lockdown for another week ending 6 am on June 7.
“As the total lockdown ends on May 31, I have ordered an extension for a week after a district-wise review on the severity of Covid to prevent the spread of the virus and to save precious lives,” Chief Minister said.

M K Stalin announced that provision stores and vegetable carts would be allowed to sell essential supplies through vehicles or pushers in their respective localities with permission from local bodies to meet the daily requirements of the public.
"The provision stores are also allowed to receive orders either online or over the phone and deliver supplies at the customer's residence between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.," the CM said.
“I have also ordered the cooperation and consumer protection department to supply a kit of 13-grocery items to all rice cardholders from the month of June in all PDS outlets,” Mr. Stalin added.

Chief Minister appealed to people for their full cooperation and requested them to avoid stepping out of residences or for meetings when the state is under total lockdown to prevent the spread of disease.
