Suzuki Burgman Street Pricing Leaked
The scooter costs Rs 82,250 (on-road Pune), which keeps it at the premium end of the 125cc segment
At Rs 82,250, the Suzuki Burgman Street trails just behind the Vespa LX 125, which costs Rs 85,320. Another competitor, the top-end Honda Grazia, is around Rs 4,600 less expensive, at Rs 77,585 (front disc, alloy variant). The top-of-the-line Honda Activa 125 is only slightly cheaper than the Grazia, at Rs 77,157. Interestingly, Honda includes a three-year (2 years standard + 1 year free) warranty in the on-road price.
Aprilia’s sporty 125cc scooter, the SR 125 costs Rs 78,150, whereas TVS’ sporty product in the segment, the NTorq, costs Rs 75,900. The NTorq undercuts all the aforementioned scooters in the segment, while offering segment-first features like smart Bluetooth-connected instrumentation. The TVS NTorq also comes with a 5-year warranty at no extra cost.
Suzuki will launch the Burgman Street on 19 July, and it will be the brand’s first European-style premium scooter for India. The Burgman Street shares its underpinnings with the Access 125. Its 124cc single-cylinder motor is also derived from the Access 125, producing the same power and torque output of 8.7PS at 7000rpm and 10.2Nm at 5000rpm. The Burgman Street comes only in one variant, featuring a front disc and a rear drum, both with Combined Braking System as standard.
The Burgman Street gets a full digital instrument cluster derived from the Gixxer range. The ergonomics look comfortable, thanks to the addition of foot pads on the apron. Suzuki has employed LED units for both headlight and tail lamp. You also get a large windscreen to help reduce wind blast. Bookings for the scooter have already commenced unofficially across dealerships in the country.
