SSR Case: Rhea To Be Quizzed By CBI; A Look At What Will Happen In The Probe Now

Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Now that the case of Sushant Singh Rajput will continue to be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation, as the Supreme Court announced in its verdict today, the fans and family members of the rising Bollywood star are optimistic that justice will be delivered to him.  The mystery of Rajput’s death didn’t tend to unravel even after a month long investigation by Mumbai Police, after which a complaint was filed by his family with Bihar Police. The case was there on transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation. Also Read: SSR Case Not Related To Bihar Elections, It's About Justice: CM Nitish Kumar To ABP News Now all eyes will be on the CBI’s probe and also on the ED’s probe which is running parallel. Here’s a look at expected course of action ahead: The CBI had already formed the SIT in the case. Now a meeting is underway at CBI headquarters regarding this and further strategy is being formulation. The CBI is still monitoring the Mumbai Police's action, watching whether the Mumbai Police takes any further legal steps after the Supreme Court verdict. .Also Read: CBI To Probe Sushant Singh Rajput Case, Orders Supreme Court; Actor's Family And Bihar DGP Welcome Verdict The next step will be for the SIT team formed by CBI, to reach Mumbai. After reaching Mumbai, this team will recreate the crime scene. Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is the Prime accused, facing suicide abetment and money laundering charges, will be then interrogated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Her family members will also be questioned. Forensic  team will also go with the SIT to the crime scene. The CBI has asked for the following documents from Mumbai Police:
  • The record of witness testimony, prepared by the police, after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death
  • The 56 statements recorded by Mumbai Police.
  • The reports of the Forensic audit
  • The diaries of Sushant Singh Rajput
  • The bank details of both Sushant Singh Rajput & Rhea Chakraborty
  • Documents related to post- mortem autopsy
Sources have said that the CBSe has sought the above documents and details from the Mumbai police to carry forward its investigation. A brief background: After about a month-long investigation by Mumbai Police which yielded no substantial result, the late actor’s family  filed complaint against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty with Patna police, accusing her of transferring money from his account. The case was then transferred to CBI on the recommendation of Bihar government.  Rhea Chakraborty challenged the jurisdiction of the Bihar Police in the matter in her written submission and told SC that the Patna FIR could at best be regarded as a zero FIR.
