To be specific, we’re talking about Royal Enfield’s limited edition Classic 500 Pegasus. The bike which is available only via online booking received such an overwhelming response that Royal Enfield’s website crashed minutes after bookings officially opened at 2 PM on 10 July 2018. As of now, the sale has been postponed and we’re still waiting for an official word from Royal Enfield.

Royal Enfield will only produce 1,000 units of the special edition motorcycle, out of which 250 units have been earmarked for the Indian market. Launched at a price of Rs 2.40 lakh (on-road, Delhi), the bike is a tribute to the famed World War II motorcycle called the RE/WD 125, which was also known as the ‘Flying Flea’ for its small size. Mechanically, the bike is the same Classic 500 with some additional cosmetic changes.

So what’s so special about the bike? Inspired by the 'Flying Flea', the heritage paint job and additional accessories give it the look of a motorcycle from World War II. Additionally, the bike comes with a set of military-style canvas panniers bearing the Pegasus logo and a maroon and blue Pegasus emblem on the fuel tank. Each bike features a unique serial number stencilled on the fuel tank while the battery box sports the ‘Made Like a Gun’ decal.
