Karnataka CM's Security Breach: Intruder Approaches Siddaramaiah During Republic Day Parade

The man identified Purushottam entered the media gallery and tried to throw a sheet at CM Siddaramaiah.

The police immediately took the intruder into custody for questioning.

A security lapse was reported at Republic Day celebrations attended by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at Parade Ground in Bengaluru on Friday. An individual reportedly entered the grounds and approached the Chief Minister.

Following this, the police immediately took him into custody for questioning.

According to ANI, a security breach was reported during the Republic Day parade at the Parade Ground in Bengaluru when a person managed to enter the grounds and attempted to approach Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah. The police immediately took the person into custody and took him for questioning. More details are awaited.

The man identified Purushottam entered the media gallery and tried to throw a sheet at CM Siddaramaiah. According to reports, Purushottam took to the action since he was frustrated over the delay in government declaring results of KPSC exam.

Meanwhile, the Centre reportedly excluded Karnataka's tableau from this year's Republic Day parade in the national capital triggering a political dispute. The Congress labeled it as an "insult" to 70 million Kannadigas by denying the state a chance to display its tableau. The Chief Minister highlighted that although numerous tableau proposals were submitted from Karnataka, the Central Government rejected all of them.

However, Karnataka BJP state president BY Vijayendra expressed the view that the government should have approached the Centre rather than politicizing the matter. He said that the state would have an opportunity at the Republic Day parade next year.

He also said that the Congress-led government should have promptly approached the Central government once they learnt about the matter.
