PM Modi AMU Speech: "Government Committed To Empower Muslim Daughters"

PM Modi speech at Aligarh Muslim University: School drop out rate among Muslim girls was more than 70% & this situation persisted for 70 years. With his government's effort this rate has fallen to nearly 30%.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) at their centenary celebrations said the government is committed to empowering Muslim daughters. Citing the drop out rate among Muslim women from educational institutions, Prime Minister said it was at 70% for the last 70 years. With the efforts from his government the drop out rate has been curtailed to 30%. "School drop-out rate among Muslim daughters was more than 70% and this situation persisted for 70 years," PM Narendra Modi mentioned during his speech to the varsity. "The government started Swachh Bharat Mission, built toilets for school-going girls. Now this rate (drop-out rate) has fallen to nearly 30%," he added. During his speech, PM Modi also lauded the overall female enrollment of AMU which he mentioned is at 35 per cent. He asserted that for country's progress and development it is important to set aside ideological differences. "The country is heading towards a path where all citizens get the benefits of development without any bias," Modi said. In his virtual address to the central varsity, the Prime Minister said that the nation is on the path where no citizen would be left behind because of their religion. Repeating his government's motto 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas', Modi said everyone would get equal opportunities to fulfil their dreams. Prime Minister Narendra Modi  was addressing Aligarh Muslim University during their centenary celebrations. AMU Chancellor Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin and Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank were also present during the occasion.
