Surat: Mumbai Crime Branch Makes Ninth Arrest In Porn Racket Case
Nine arrests have been made so far in the Mumbai porn racket case, this time, it is a Gujarat man named Tanvir Hashmi.
Mumbai: The Property Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch arrested Tanvir Hashmi a 40-year-old, Gujarat man in the porn film shooting racket making it the ninth arrest of the case. Today, he will be produced in front of Quilla court for police remand.

The arrests began after popular TV Actress Gehana Vasisth was arrested by the Property Cell of the Crime Branch for shooting and uploading porn videos on a website. According to media reports,Mumbai police allege that Vasisth launched a production house and produced adult movies under the pretext of making short films during the lockdown. They were mostly shooting in bungalows in and around Mumbai and they coordinated with a foreign production houses to uplaod the porn clips on OTT platforms.
Last week, Mumbai Police had reportedly raided a bungalow in Madh area of Malad, Mumbai where a porn movie was allegedly being shot. A man named Umesh Kamat was then held. He apparently was involved in liasoning for a foreign-based company in India and would also arrange business deals.
The group which allegedly includes actress Gehna Vaisth would lure aspiring actors into the porn industry by promising them work in webseries or short films.
