Lucknow: The prices of liquor have increased in Uttar Pradesh beginning Tuesday as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government has imposed a ‘corona cess’.
The prices of liquor will be increased by Rs 10 to Rs 40 per bottle, said an order issued by the state excise department. The cess of Rs 10 has been imposed on regular-premium category liquor, Rs 20 on super premiere, Rs 30 on scotch and Rs 40 on liquor imported from abroad, IANS reported.

Amid the spike in the Covid-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh Government had on Monday announced the extension of the partial lockdown till May 7 a.m. on May 6.
The restrictions, which were slated to be lifted today, will continue as earlier and all markets, shopping malls, and restaurants will remain shut during the period.
