KK Death: Kolkata Police Register 'Unnatural Death' Case, Probe ‘Black Spots’ On Singer’s Lip, Head

The police is interrogating organisers of the show and the hotel staff, to ascertain the exact cause of his death. 

New Delhi: The Kolkata police has filed a case regarding the death of playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, better known as KK. The case registered at the New Market police station has been lodged for "unnatural death". According to ABP News sources, investigation has revealed black spots on KK’s lips and head.

The police is interrogating organisers of the show and the hotel staff, to ascertain the exact cause of his death. 

The singer's body is still kept at CMRI and will be taken to SSKM hospital for post mortem later today.

KK is reported to have died after becoming ill while performing at the Gurudas College event in the city's Nazrul Mancha. The singer was invited to perform at the annual fest of the college called Utkarsh 2022, reported ABP News.

On reaching his hotel room after performing at the concert on Tuesday, the 53-year-old singer complained of chest congestion. He was immediately rushed to the CMRI hospital in the city where he was declared "brought dead".

"It's unfortunate that we could not treat him," a senior official of the hospital told news agency PTI.

The versatile singer has recorded songs in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali, among other.

The legendary musician has sung songs such as Tu Jo Mile From Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dil Ibaadat from Tum Mile, Abhi Abhi from Jism 2, Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai from Gangster, Ankhon Mein Teri from Om Shanti Om and many more.
