Jabalpur City SP Rohit Keshvani has tested positive for COVID-19 after arresting Indore attack suspect Javed Khan. The healthcare workers and civic officials were attacked by a mob of angry locals in Indore. Javed Khan was part of the mob that attacked doctors.
The medical team visited the area to screen residents for signs of novel Coronavirus infection. Two women doctors were injured in the attack, they hid to protect themselves and had to be rescued by police. A shocking video of the attack was released in two healthcare workers dressed in light blue PPE (personal protective equipment) suits running from a small group of locals who are throwing stones and what appears to be a large piece of plastic at them. The attack took place at Indore's Taat Patti Bakhal area. Javed was detained under National Security Act for pelting stones at the medical professionals in Indore after he was tested positive for Coronavirus he was kept in the Corona ward of Jabalpur Medical College. He was then arrested from the border of Narsinghpur district and was kept in Jabalpur Medical College from where he ran away. The police have registered a case against the attackers.
The team who arrested Javed Khan from the Narsinghpur district has now been quarantined, SP Keshvani was also part of the team. Trainee DSP Ashish Jain informed that the arrest involved some tussle and police personnel who came in his contact have been put under quarantine as a precautionary measure. They will also be medically examined. Even after the attack, the doctors returned as they know the work must carry on.
