Woman special police officer shot down outside her residence by terrorists in J-K’s Shopian district

Shopian: In yet another dastardly act carried out by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian , a woman special police officer (SPO) was shot dead by terrorists at her home, police said. The militants  shot SPO Khushboo Jan from close range at her home in Vehil in Shopian district Saturday afternoon, a police official said. The official said the injured SPO was shifted to a nearby hospital where she succumbed.  Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a hunt for the assailants, he added. Meanwhile, condemning the gruesome terror attack, the Jammu and Kashmir police said, "Terrorists today fired on a policewoman Khushboo Jan at her village in Vehil area of Shopian district. She sustained critical injuries and was evacuated to a hospital where she succumbed. We condemn this gruesome terror act and stand by her family at this critical juncture". "Separately, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation in the matter," they added.
