'What Constitutional Post Does Priyanka Hold?’: Sambit Patra Questions Punjab CM On PM Security Lapse

Channi stated that he had informed party leader Priyanka Gandhi of "whatever transpired" on the PM security breach.

New Delhi: On the issue of the Prime Minister's security lapse, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra slammed Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. On Twitter, he questioned the Punjab Chief Minister on why a sitting chief minister informed Priyanka Vadra on the Prime Minister's security.

Taking to Twitter, BJP Spokesperson said, “A sitting CM briefs Priyanka Vadra on PM’s security! Why? What constitutional post does Priyanka hold & who’s She to be kept on loop regarding PM’s security?”

Channi stated that he had informed party leader Priyanka Gandhi of "whatever transpired" on the Prime Minister's security breach. Following his remarks, a scandal developed, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticising the Congress party on the topic.

On January 5, the prime minister's convoy was trapped on a flyover owing to a protester blockage in Punjab's Ferozepur, and he returned from the poll-bound state without attending any event, including a rally. The Punjab administration has insisted that there was no security breach, but has launched an investigation into the matter.
