West Bengal Exit Poll Result 2021 Date Time: In its final phase of polling which began at 7 am on Thursday, Bengal voters will select candidates for 35 seats amid the surge in Covid-19 cases.  

With the West Bengal elections in its last leg and other states including Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry finishing with their polls, the much-awaited exit polls will remain in focus after the election gets over in Bengal on Thursday.

West Bengal's Assembly Election becomes all the more important, as in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections BJP's voting percentage swelled to around 40 percent, threatening the regional ruling party TMC.

In its final phase of the crucial polling which began at 7 am on Thursday, Bengal voters will select candidates for 35 seats amid the surge in Covid-19 cases. Over 84.77 lakh voters will decide the political fate of 283 candidates in this phase. Some prominent contestants in this phase include state Minister for Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Shashi Panja, Consumer Affairs Minister Sadhan Pandey, and former India footballer Kalyan Chaubey.  

Voting is being held at 11,860 polling stations spread over 11 assembly constituencies each in Murshidabad and Birbhum, six in Malda, and seven in north Kolkata.

As per the PTI report, the poll panel has placed Trinamool Congress's Birbhum district president Anubrata Mondal under strict surveillance till 7 am on Friday after the chief electoral officer received "several complaints against him".

Voting is being held at 11,860 polling stations spread over 11 assembly constituencies each in Murshidabad and Birbhum, six in Malda, and seven in north Kolkata. The eight-phase elections to the 294-member assembly began on March 27. The votes will be counted on Sunday.

The state has beefed up security in view of the violence in the previous phases, especially the death of five people in Cooch Behar in the fourth round of polling on April 10, The polling will continue till 6.30 pm. The main parties contesting the polls are the Trinamool Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Left front comprising the Congress and the Community Party of India (Marxist).
