Never Did Politics On Covid, Says Health Minister On Letter To Rahul Gandhi On Bharat Jodo Yatra
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today said that the government has never done politics on Covid in the Rajya Sabha.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today while addressing the Rajya Sabha said that the government has never done politics on Covid. He further stated that the government has set up oxygen plants in big hospitals across the country and has also reviewed the adequate amount of medicines in the country to keep Covid under control.
"We haven't done any politics on covid. Oxygen plants have been set up in big hospitals across the country & are being run. We have reviewed the adequate amount of medicines in the country," ANI reported quoting health minister Mandaviya.

The comment came after Congress criticised Mandaviya for sending a letter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asking him to follow Covid protocol in his Bharat Jodo Yatra. Congress, in its reaction to the letter, said the health minister had "singled out" the opposition party's event even though BJP was also involved in crowd mobilisation.
"Follow Covid guidelines strictly during Bharat Jodo Yatra... If following Covid protocol is not possible then the Bharat Jodo Yatra be postponed in the national interest, taking note of the public health emergency," the letter said.
Defending his letter to the Congress leader, Mandaviya said, "Many people who participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra have been found positive for Covid. Himachal Pradesh CM, who had participated in the Yatra, also tested positive. To ensure that this doesn't lead to the spread of infection in Rajasthan, I called a meeting of experts and on the basis of their suggestions, wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi, who is in charge of the Yatra, advising that Covid-appropriate behaviour should be followed."
