WATCH: Tej Pratap Yadav falls while protesting against rising fuel prices
Few weeks ago, the 29-year-old he rode a cycle rickshaw for some distance before stating "everybody should drive a rickshaw. It would come in handy at a time when fuel prices are soaring. The physical exertion involved would also bring health benefits".
PATNA: Former Bihar Minister Tej Pratap Yadav did not predict that the bicycle that he ventured on to protest against rising petrol and diesel prices would actually make him ‘bite the dust’.
Visuals showed him taking a steep right while taking over the jeep of his security personnel. While doing so, his bike skid along the road and he plunged on to the ground. Fortunately, he did not suffer injuries as his entourage immediately jumped in to lift him up.
Before taking out the cycle yatra, he told reporters, "petrol and diesel have become costlier, it is best to ride a cycle now, it also helps to stay healthy." He shared pictures on Twitter saying he enjoyed a “sweet experience”. Earlier this month, Tej had hinted at quitting politics. However, he dismissed reports of leaving politics due to family pressure saying his “hacked” Facebook page was a conspiracy of the BJP and RSS. It is also being speculated that Tej’s wife Aishwarya may enter politics in Bihar and could be fielded from Lalu’s traditional parliamentary seat Saran in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.Patna: RJD's Tej Pratap Yadav takes out a cycle yatra, says, "petrol and diesel have become costlier, it is best to ride a cycle now, it also helps to stay healthy." #Bihar pic.twitter.com/8f8oxjZMyb
