ABP News impact: Court takes note after retired inspector thrashed to death in broad day light

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a retired Inspector was thrashed to death in Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s city Allahabad. The goons thrashed the retired officer with sticks and rods; in the middle of the road; when he was riding a bicycle to buy vegetables for his house. The court on Tuesday took a note of the incident and questioned the police officials why have they not arrested the guilty so far. This came after ABP News ran a story on the same. The cops have now put one person behind the bars and have detained 5 people. The entire bone-chilling incident has also been caught on CCTV camera: The CCTV video is heart-wrenching as 3 men can be seen thrashing the retired and old Inspector with sticks. The cops have filed a case and have begun their investigation; though no arrests have been made so far. The incident has raised serious questions on the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh. Former Inspector of Allahabad, Abudul Samad used to reside in Shivkuti in Allahabad. He was involved in a feud with his neighbor Junaid from past 65 years. As per sources, Junaid had threatened to kill retired Inspector multiple times. When Samad left his house on Monday, Junaid stopped him and started thrashing him with sticks. Abdul fell on the road and started crying in pain, when 2 other men joined Junaid and started thrashing Abdul with sticks. During the incident many people crossed, but, no one stopped to help him. Later, he was taken to the hospital; where he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.
