UP: BJP worker brutally killed by 'sand mafia' in Sitapur

As per the allegations levied the grieving family, if the authorities would have probed the matter properly, then such an incident would not have taken place.

Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident, a Bharatiya Janta Party worker was abducted and later murdered by running a tractor over him in Sitapur district. Following the incident, angry villagers torched the tractor which was being driven by men close to sand mafia. As the enraged locals torched the tractor which killed BJP worker, sand mafia’s men immediately ran away. As per sources, the deceased was regularly complaining the authorities about over loading and illegal mining by the sand mafia; but the present authorities only gave assurances, instead of probing the case. As per the allegations levied the grieving family, if the authorities would have probed the matter properly, then such an incident would not have taken place. The locals and farmer leaders and the family members of the victim are holding SDM and district sand authority equally responsible for the incident. The cops have filed a case against the sand mafia after a complaint by the family members and have begun an investigation as well.
