New Delhi: A day after the Ministry of Home Affairs issued the guidelines for Unlock 1, The government of Maharashtra has announced the guidelines to be followed in government offices for the staff, which includes mandatory thermal screening, use of sanitizers and social distancing. The state government said all employees and visitors will be screened through a thermal scanner before entering the office. It will be checked if screening is being done strictly or not. All employees will have to wear a three-ply mask or surgical mask while working in the office. "Windows of the office will be kept open throughout the day ventilation. Employees have to maintain a three feet distance from each other while working, such seating arrangements will be done," the guidelines stated. "Employees are advised not to touch their faces to avoid infection. Lifts, tables, chairs, etc shall be sanitized thrice a day with sodium hypochlorite. All other office equipment like printer, scanner, computer, etc shall be sanitized with an alcohol-based sanitizer," it added. The Central government, On Saturday, extended the lockdown till June 30 in containment zones and said that the country will witness Unlock-1 from June 8 under which opening of shopping malls, restaurants, and religious places will be allowed in a phased manner. Maharashtra has been witnessing the highest number of cases with 65,168 positive cases of infection and 2,197 deaths, while the country has seen the highest spike of 8380 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total number to 1,82,143.
