Navratri 2021: Puja Committee Keeps CM Mamata Banerjee's Idol In Place Of 'Devi' In West Bengal

Nazrul Park Puja Committee keeps the idol of CM Mamata Banerjee in the place of “Devi”, stating the theme "Tumi Bhorsha"

The idol of “Didi” has also been put up in this committee which is also one of its specialities.

New Delhi: This time Durga Puja is special as Mamata Banerjee the “Didi” of Bengal have successfully made her place by winning the by-election that was held in September where she has become the CM for the third time.

Various pandals are working their best to keep their visitors pleased and happy amidst the Covid situations. The puja committees have taken up different topics and one such committee is Nazrul Park.

This committee has given their best to convey their feeling to the visitor in the form of their idol. The Durga idol of this puja committee will surely take the hearts of many. The idol of “Didi” has also been put up in this committee which is also one of its specialities.

This also shows that she is the only woman who is so strong to rule Bengal alone for consecutive three years. She has been portrayed as Maa Durga and in her hands are all the schemes which she has launched for the children, for the women and for everyone in Bengal, such as 'Aikashree', 'Shikshashree', 'Khadya Sathi', 'Swasth Sathi', ''Lokkhi Bhandar', student credit card and 'Ruposhree'.

The interior of the pandal is decorated with “Patchitra” or canvas painting which is also a speciality of Bengal and the structure of the pandal has been made according to that of ''Lokkhi Bhandar' which is used by the women to keep their jewellery, their food and everything which is not only considered important but also pure.

When asked to the president of the club Indranath Bagui, about putting up the idol of our CM Mamata Banerjee he said, “We're showing people how beneficial it will be for the people when we go in 2024 and our minister will work like this for all the people for India.”

Stating the theme of this pandal as "Tumi Bhorsha" which means that “ you are the only one to rely on” the people of Nazrul Unnayan Sangh club tried to portray Mamata Banerjee as hope and they tried to place her as “Devi” that is Maa Durga.

The idol that will be worshipped is Maa Durga but the idol our beloved “Didi” will be kept to give strength to the nation.

This time, the pandal is really unique as all of Mamata's schemes have been displayed as Durga's Ashtapuja. Some examples are Ekashree, Sikhashree, khadya Sathi, swastho sathi, Kanyashree, Lakhhi Bhandar, Student Credit card, Rupashree. These are all the schemes that have been highlighted and portrayed by Biswabangla along with pictures of her with children. These are the schemes that she has initiated in Bengal, which has opened new dimensions of success.

The art inside the pandal is carved on Thermacol sheets and it is beautifully decorated. It is a representation of Durga with her Cycle schemes and all other schemes have also been displayed.

But this time, not only through the Khadya Sathi or other schemes, even Mamata Banerjee's win has been displayed.

Talking about the new “Lokkhi Bhandar” scheme Indranath Bagui the president of the club says that this scheme has been made irrespective of their financial state. He also says that his wife is one of them who is enjoying such a scheme.  There were several other schemes that are also being talked about.

The pandal was a result of months of hard work and is not easy as it is all shown through ropes. Things that were used to make it is hay, Jute, which is covered beautifully with clothes. The Durga idol’s arrival was done in a way called 'Bang Deshey tu Sundori' on that basis women are always respected and worshipped. Apart from that 'Shaktipujan' is always a major part of Bengal and Bengal has always proved this.
