New Delhi: Following a brief outage on January 9, the services of the Unified Payment Interface (UPI), the quick payment interface designed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), were restored.

Taking to Twitter, NPCL said, "Regret the inconvenience to #UPI users due to intermittent technical glitch. #UPI is operational now, and we are monitoring the system closely."

Several customers took to Twitter to say that the UPI server was down and that they couldn't use digital wallets or online payment services like Google Pay or Paytm to make purchases.

According to a tech reviewer, ICICI Bank has told its clients that their UPI system is unavailable due to maintenance.
