Three Including Top Lashkar Terrorist Killed In Encounter With Security Forces In J-K's Sopore
Three terrorists were killed in Sopore operation. It was a joint operation of Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF.
Srinagar: Three terrorists, including a top commander of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were gunned down in an an encounter with army, Jammu ad Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore, which started on Sunday night.
News agency ANI reported that the Indian Army, Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a joint operation in Sopore area of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir following information about the presence of at least three militants, including commander and one of the most wanted militants Mudasir Pandit.

Giving insights on the Sopore incident, DGP Dilbag Singh said, "Three terrorists were killed in (Sopore) operation. It was a joint operation of Indian Army, Police & CRPF. The terrorists were involved in serval terror crimes. One of them, Mudasir Pandit has 18 FIR registered on his name."
ANI further quoted the official saying as, "Two foreign terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have been neutralised in two encounters in Sopore this year. This clearly states that foreign terrorists are still present who are lying low. We have their details and are launching operations accordingly."
According to reports, Pandit was wanted in many cases, including the killing of two BJP councillors and a policeman during a meeting in Sopore earlier this year.
Kashmir Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar in a Twitter post said, "Top LeT terrorist Mudasir Pandit who was involved in the killing of three policemen, two councillors and two civilians recently and several other terror crimes got killed in Sopore encounter."
