Terrorist Snatches Weapon From Security Personnel In Kashmir

"Incident of weapon snatching of security personnel reported from Rajpora area of Pulwama," the Jammu and Kashmir police said.

Suspected terrorists on Sunday snatched a weapon from a Central Reserve Police Force personnel in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, news agency ANI reported.

"An incident of snatching of a security personnel's weapon has been reported from the Rajpora area of Pulwama," the Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

Officials said that the area has been cordoned off. Soon after the incident, Police, army and CRPF launched a joint operation to track down the man.

The rifle was later recovered from the man, identified as Irfan Bashir Ganie. 

"With the assistance of family, Police brought back Irfan Bashir Ganie, aged about 25 years from below Pulwama along with AK-47 rifle which he snatched from CRPF personnel today. Investigation going on. We appreciate the role of family," said ADGP Kashmir.
