Tendulkar attends Rajya Sabha, after being questioned

Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar attended Rajya Sabha on Thursday. His absence was questioned by SP MP Naresh Agarwal two days ago.

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha members Sachin Tendulkar and Mary Kom attended the Rajya Sabha on Thursday after a long spell of absence. What made them attend the proceedings, is believed to be the remarks of samajwadi party MP Naresh Agarwal. Tendulkar's absence was questioned by Samajwadi Party MP Naresh Agarwal on Tuesday and two days after it, he was seen in the Upper House. According to the report of ANI, on Tuesday, the Samajawadi Party MP had asked the former Indian cricketer Tendulkar and film actress Rekha to resign if they are not interested in the duties of Parliament.  Although, Tendulkar attended the proceedings, he didn't ask any question. Boxer Mary Kom, who is also seldom seen  in the Parliament, was also present in the Rajya Sabha. Naresh Agarwal was quoted saying, "They should resign if they are not interested in Parliament. They are hardly present in Parliament." Tendulkar and Rekha are among the twelve nominated members of Rajya Sabha. ANI reported that they were the worst performers of the twelve members. Naresh Agarwal, is the same MP who had questioned Tendulkar and Rekha's absence previously in March too. In March, Agarwal had said, "we have been yearning to see the presence of nominated members. They never come to the house. The entire session is over, but we haven't seen them, be it Tendulkar or film actress Rekha or others."
