Prajwal Revanna's Brother Suraj Revanna Arrested For 'Sexually Assaulting' A Man: Report

Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)) MLC Suraj Revanna was arrested on Sunday on charges of unnatural offences against him. He was booked on Saturday for allegedly sodomising a 27-year-old party worker.
According to PTI, Chethan K S, in a complaint, told the police that Revanna, the eldest son of Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna, sodomised him at his farmhouse in Ghannikada in Holenarasipura Taluk on June 16 evening.
According to PTI sources, Suraj was questioned at the CEN police station in Hassan overnight, before he was arrested.
The Holenarasipura police registered a case against the JD(S) MLC under IPC sections 377 (unnatural sex) and 506 (criminal intimidation) based on the complaint, late on Saturday evening.
However, following Chethan’s complaint, Suraj Revenna, 37, the grandson of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and the nephew of Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy, had categorically refuted the charge. Instead, he alleged, Chethan filed a false complaint to extort Rs 5 crore from him.
On Friday, police registered a case of extortion against the JD(S) worker on a complaint from Suraj Revanna’s close aide, Shivakumar.
According to news reports, Shivakumar said that Chethan had approached him to help find a job. Shivakumar gave him Suraj Revanna's number and told him to contact him. However, Chethan blackmailed the two after he failed to find a job.
Shivakumar has alleged, that Chethan was trying to extort money from Suraj Revanna by threatening to lodge a false case of sexual assault against him, reported PTI. Allegedly, Chethan demanded Rs 5 crore from Suraj Revanna, which was later reduced to Rs 2 crore.
Suraj is the elder brother of former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna who is in police custody for allegedly sexually assaulting several women.
Prajwal lost Hassan Lok Sabha seat and was arrested on May 31, after he returned from Germany where he had escaped to after rape and intimidation cases were registered against him.
The allegations surfaced after pen drives containing explicit videos purportedly involving Prajwal Revanna were circulated in Hassan ahead of the Lok Sabha polls on April 26. Following the filing of these cases, the JD(S) suspended him from the party.
The brothers’ parents H D Revanna and mother Bhavani were accused of kidnapping and keeping an alleged victim of their son Prajwal's "sexual assaults". They are currently out on bail.
