New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the Ubbah village of Sonbhadra district on Sunday, to meet the families of the 10 people who were killed in a clash over a land dispute, a day after the row between Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi and the Uttar Pradesh government over the incident, ended. Ten people were gunned down and 28 injured in a clash between Gond tribals and village head Yagya Dutt's supporters over a piece of land on Wednesday. The standoff ended on Saturday and Gandhi headed back to Delhi after a meeting with some Sonbhadra villagers who travelled to the Mirzapur guesthouse where she had stayed overnight, refusing an offer from local administration to furnish a personal bond and leave. The families of the carnage victims were on Friday taken by surprise when they came to know that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was detained in Mirzapur, while coming to their village. They decided to walk most of the 70 km distance to Chunar guest house to meet her, reports said. According to the Congress leaders, the residents of the Ubbha village covered the distance, mostly on foot, to meet Priyanka Gandhi at the guest house, where she was detained since Friday. Priyanka said those who had arrested her and brought her to the Chunar guesthouse were now saying she is free to leave. I want to tell them that I have fulfilled my objective. I met the family members. I am leaving today, but I shall return, she told party workers who thronged the guesthouse.
