Sitaram Yechury re-elected CPI-M General Secretary

In 2015, Sitaram Yechury was first elected as the CPI-M General Secretary.

New Delhi: On Sunday, the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) re-elected Sitaram Yechury as its General Secretary. He is re-elected for another three years. In 2015, Sitaram Yechury was first elected as the CPI-M General Secretary. On the last day of the party's 22nd Congress, his re-election took place.  CPI-M leader and former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar informed that Yechury was elected by a 95-member new Central Committee. CPI-M also elected a 17-member new Politburo.
