Sikkim Extends Containment Measures, Restriction On Movements Till July 19

The order, with strict implementation, is to take effect from July 12 to July 19, till 5 am.

Gangtok: In an attempt to contain COVID spread in the state, Sikkim Government extended restrictions on the movement of the public by a whole week, resulting in the restrictions remaining effective till July 19, 2021.

The state government, on June 11, had imposed COVID protocols with certain restrictions, and the extension has been done "on review of the current situation and after careful consideration."

According to the initial notice, the restrictions were supposed to end on July 12, 2021. However, to strengthen the rules on the movement of people and other measures for containment of Covid-19 in the state, the restrictions have been extended by a week till 19th July.
