'Someone Must Have Asked To Oppose Me': Raut On Israel Embassy's Letter Over His 'Hitler' Post

Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut stated that he had no intention of causing harm to Israel and that he had condemned the Gaza hospital attack in the same way that Hamas had attacked Israel.

Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut stated on Saturday that the length of time it took the Israeli Embassy to convey its displeasure over his now-deleted seemingly anti-Semitic social media post implies that the embassy acted at someone's request, news agency ANI reported. Raut reshared a tweet on the social networking site X (previously Twitter) regarding the plight of newborns at Gaza's al-Shifa hospital on November 14. He stated that he had no intention of causing harm to Israel and that he had condemned the Gaza hospital attack in the same way that Hamas had attacked Israel.

Speaking with media, Raut stated: "It's been a long time since that tweet. I removed that tweet. There was a reference to Hitler in that, but I had no intention to hurt Israel. The way Hamas attacked Israel, I criticised that attack. In the same way, when Gaza's hospitals were attacked, newborns and children were killed in large numbers...children should be kept out of the war."

He further stated: "I said that it was inhumanity, and maybe because you are not showing humanity, a leader must have opposed you during that time... After one month, Israel's High Commission has written a letter on that. Someone must have said to him, this is Sanjay Raut, oppose him."

On November 14, Sanjay Raut reshared an article on the difficult circumstances at Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital, adding his own Hindi comments. "He now understands why Hitler hated Jews so much," the comment roughly translated.

Following Israel's onslaught, preterm newborns screamed at the Al-Shifa Hospital, according to a story given by Sanjay Raut. Following a barrage of criticism, the Rajya Sabha MP removed his post.

Responding to Sanjay's post, the Israeli Embassy complained to the External Affairs Ministry and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla about Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut's "anti-Semitic" tweet on the social networking site X.
