Marine, NSG Commandos To Guard G20 Summit Venues In Kashmir
The ADGP urged all agencies to work in a coordinated manner to ensure the summit's success, which is expected to be attended by several high-profile dignitaries from across the world.
A senior police official on Tuesday said that Marine and NSG commandos will be deployed to ensure peaceful conduct of the upcoming G-20 summit being hosted at Srinagar later this month. A high-level security meeting chaired by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar, at Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar, was held on Tuesday, where officers of Police, intelligence agencies and security forces participated in the discussions regarding overall security arrangements to be adopted for safe and smooth conduct of the G-20 event.
During the meeting, the ADGP emphasised the need for securing river and lake domination to ensure the security of the event, a police spokesman said.
The ADGP added that the Marine Commandos (MARCOS) will be deployed to provide a strong security cover for the water bodies around the summit venues.
"The ADGP Kashmir shared with all stakeholders that NSG teams will be used for counter fidayeen attack along with SOG and specialise NSG teams to counter drones will be deployed at all venues," the police spokesman was quoted as saying by PTI.

Kumar directed the officials to ensure that the security arrangements are put in place well before the summit, and the deployment of troopers should be done in a manner that does not cause inconvenience to the local residents and tourists.
Apart from the security measures, the meeting also discussed the management of foreign NGOs and media personnel during the summit, the police spokesman said.
The General Officer Commanding (GoC) of Kilo Force assured all assistance like domination of high reaches, corridor protection, and additional area surveillance teams for area domination, specifically at night.
During the meeting, special focus was laid on the emerging threat of Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIEDs) and other modes of potential terror attacks including potential fidayeen strikes, standoff fire and grenade attacks.
The officials also discussed the deployment of security personnel, traffic management, and crowd control measures to be adopted for the peaceful conduct of the summit.
