Security Breach During Amit Shah's Mumbai Visit, Man Arrested For Posing As Home Ministry Official & MP's PA

Amit Shah's Mumbai Visit: The security breach was confirmed when the police verified that the accused name was not mentioned in Shah's list of security.

New Delhi: A man has been arrested and sent to judicial custody in Mumbai for impersonating as a personal assistant of a Member of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh as well as posing as an official from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) during Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent visit to Mumbai. 

The man is identified as Hemant Pawar, a resident of Dhule, news agency ANI reported. He was seen outside the residences of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.

As per ANI, the security breach was confirmed when the police verified that the accused name was not mentioned in list of security personnel for Amit Shah.

He was seen at both the places where the Union Home Minister Amit Shah's events were held.

The accused was also seen outside the residences of the Maharashtra Chief Minister and his deputy by posing as a member of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as he also carried its ribbon tag, ANI reported the police as informing.

During his two-day visit to the city, Amit Shah visited Lalbaugcha Raja, a prominent Ganesh pandal, on Monday. He also visited the residences of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. 

Hemant Pawar has been sent to five-day police custody by the court on Tuesday after he was arrested by the Malabar Hill Police Station on Monday.

This was Amit Shah's first visit to Mumbai since the Shiv Sena-rebel faction and the BJP formed the government in Maharashtra. Shinde became the Maharashtra Chief Minister on July 30 following a split in the Shiv Sena which led the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance involving the Congress and the NCP.
