RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat backs gau rakshaks

Nagpur : Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday came in for the resuce of cow protectors saying that they operate under law.

"There are some people who are dedicated to cow protection, it is part of directive principles of state policy," Bhagwat said while delivering his annual speech during the 91st foudation day of RSS. "Gau rakshaks (cow vigilantes) operate under the law, administration must keep in mind; Those who break the law shouldn't be compared to gau rakshaks," he added. The RSS was launched in September 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and its foundation day is celebrated annually on Dussehra day.
