Rajeshwar Udani murder case: TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee's house gets searched by police, doesn't give her clean chit

Devoleena is popularly known for her role as Gopi Bahu in the popular Hindi serial "Saath Nibhana Sathiya". Explaining her stand on Twitter she said, “Hello frens..thanks for your love and caring..I am safe and home nd there is nothing to get worried about..It was an investigation as I know the person who got killed..an official statement has been already given by the department..All is well (sic)."

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Mumbai Police officials investigating the murder case of a 57-year-old diamond trader on Monday searched the house of TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee. The 26-year-old actress was questioned on Saturday in connection with the killing of Rajeshwar Udani and was allowed to leave later. The actress was brought to Mumbai from Guwahati after being detained. Reports said the actress has not been given a clean chit by the police and could be called for further questioning.  Police are interrogating several persons in connection with the case as well. The trader, Rajeshwar Udani, 57, a resident of suburban Ghatkopar, had gone missing on November 28. His decomposed body was found at Panvel in neighbouring Raigad district Friday, police had said. Police Saturday arrested Sachin Pawar, a former personal assistant of a Maharashtra minister, and Dinesh Pawar, a suspended police constable who was earlier arrested in a rape case, They were Sunday remanded to police custody till December 14, a police official said, reported PTI. According to police sources of The Telegraph, Udani had had a dispute with Devoleena over Rs 70,000 and she was being questioned for more information on the alleged tiff. The sources said the names of Sachin, Devoleena and some bar dancers had been found on Udani’s call list. Reports say Sachin, who had been a political appointee to minister Maharashtra housing minister Prakash Mehta Mehta, was expelled from the BJP in 2012 after he contested the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation polls as an Independent candidate. Mehta said he fell out with Sachin after his expulsion. “He was my personal assistant till 2009. After he contested the polls as a rebel I cut off all ties with him. I am sure the police will do the needful to bring the culprits to book. This has got nothing to do with me or my party,” the minister reportedly said. Sachin and Dinesh were booked under the Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder), 365 (kidnapping) and 120b (conspiracy).
