Rajasthan Govt Is Number 1 In Corruption, CM Gehlot Doing Vote Bank Politics: Amit Shah In Udaipur

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the respect PM Modi is getting internationally is the respect people have for India.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday addressed a rally in Rajasthan's Udaipur on the completion of nine years of the Narendra Modi government. Shah accused Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of doing vote bank politics and running the most "corrupt" government in the country while alleging inaction in the Kanhaiya Lal killing. He expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form a government in Rajasthan with a record margin in the upcoming state polls.

"He (Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot) is doing vote bank politics," Amit Shah remarked. "PM Modi banned PFI, whereas, under CM (Ashok) Gehlot, PFI takes out a rally in Kota," he commented.

Shah alleged that CM Ashok Gehlot's government is "No. 1 in corruption". He accused the Congress government in Rajasthan of inaction in the Kanhaiya Lal killing and said it "didn't set up a special court, else the accused in Kanhaiya Lal killing would have been hanged."

He urged the people of Rajasthan to "uproot" Ashok Gehlot's government in the upcoming Assembly polls "so that the path for PM Modi to return in 2024 (Lok Sabha Elections) is cleared."

On abrogation of Article 370, Shah said the opposition had said the move will result in widespread violence but "no one dared to even throw a stone".

He stressed that the Modi government has worked towards making the country more secure and has also given a befitting response to terrorism from Pakistan.

"Nine years ago, terrorists from Pakistan intruded on India's land and killed our soldiers, but the then Congress govt remained silent. After Modi became PM, Pakistan tried to do the same, and within 10 days, we gave a befitting reply to Pakistan with surgical strike and air strike," the Home Minister remarked.

Amping up his attack on the Opposition, he remarked that the aim of leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Lalu Yadav, and MK Stalin is to establish the political careers of their sons and questioned how can they think of the welfare of the people.

The Home Minister said that the nine years of the Modi government have been about the welfare of the poor. He stressed that the respect PM Modi is getting internationally during his foreign visits is the respect people have for India.

"PM Modi's 9 years have been dedicated to the welfare of the poor. The respect PM Modi is getting across the world is the respect not of BJP or anyone else, it is the respect of 130 crore people of this country," he said.

Shah highlighted that 80 lakh farmers have received Rs 16,000 crores directly in their bank accounts, adding: "This has been done by our PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi has ensured that fresh drinking water reaches the homes of 43 lakh families in Rajasthan."

Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh will be held by the end of this year and the Congress as well as the  BJP have started making preparations for the polls.

The visit is a part of BJP's nationwide “Sampark Se Samarthan” campaign that was launched last month under which its leaders, including ministers and parliamentarians, are reaching out to the masses including distinguished people seeking their support with an eye on the upcoming polls, including the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
