A woman was forcefully put atop a jeep as a punishment after she objected to her husband being detained by the policemen in Amritsar district in Punjab.

In yet another shocking incident of brutality of police, a woman was forcefully put atop a jeep as a punishment after she objected to her husband being detained by the policemen in Amritsar district in Punjab. The video captured by a nearby CCTV camera has gone viral on social media which later shows the woman falling off the vehicle and police flee. As per reports, the woman was rushed to the hospital with the help of local residents who saw her falling from the police jeep. The victim has suffered series injuries in her head, the reports added. The woman, who is identified as Jaswinder Kaur (35), told the media that the police raided her home in Shahzada village in Majitha constituency, around 20 km from Amritsar, to arrest her father-in-law in connection with a case, PTI reported. As woman’s father-in-law was not at home, cops wanted to take away her husband which she fervidly interrupted. While the police dragged her husband inside the jeep, Jaswinder blocked the vehicle from front. However, the policemen did not bother and started driving the jeep. As a result, Jaswinder came on the bonnet and later moved atop the jeep. The officials from Punjab Police Crime Branch tied the woman on top of their jeep and paraded her around the village. Later when the locals started protesting against it, cops dumped the woman to the ground while taking a sharp turn in an area of Amritsar district and fled. Embarrassed from the whole episode, the women can be seen then trying to get up and walk back to her home. While speaking to media Jaswinder alleged that the policemen were drunk and one of them pushed her atop the vehicle. Watch the video here: No action has been taken against these Punjab Police officials in connection of the incident yet. However, the shocking incident has captured eyeballs of the Opposition party as they have questioned the law and order situation in the state. The incident has also put Punjab Police into trouble over their style of functioning. This is not the first time that police officials were seen practicing such inhuman measures. Recently, a video of three cops including a female official gone viral where they can be seen physically and verbally abusing a Hindu woman for being friends with a Muslim woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district.
