'Cowardly Act': DCW Chief Claims Bhagwant Mann's Daughter Threatended By Khalistani Supporters In US
Bhagwant Mann's daughter, who lives in the US with the AAP leader's first wife Inderpreet Kaur Grewal, was allegedly called and verbally abused by pro-Khalisan elements.
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Friday claimed Khalistani elements threatened Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's daughter, Seerat Kaur Mann, who lives in the United States and requested the Indian Embassy to ensure her safety. Mann's daughter, who lives in the US with the AAP leader's first wife Inderpreet Kaur Grewal, was allegedly called and verbally abused by pro-Khalisan elements, a Patiala-based lawyer has claimed.
"Read reports of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann's daughter receiving death threats in the USA. It is an act of extreme cowardice. I appeal to the Indian Embassy in US to ensure her safety," Maliwal tweeted.
Grewal, former wife of Bhagwant Mann, lives in America with her daughter Seerat Kaur (21) and son Dilshan (18). Mann and Grewal parted ways in 2015 and later got divorced. The AAP leader married Dr Gurpreet Kaur Mann last year.
A lawyer from Patiala Harmeet Brar, in a Facebook post, claimed that Mann's daughter Seerat Kaur was called by pro-Khalistani elements and they threatened to kill her.
"Will Khalistan be achieved by threatening and abusing children? You are going to take Khalistan by threatening and abusing children in this way. Such people are a blot on Sikhism," Brar said in the post.

The development comes as Punjab Police has launched a massive operation to arrest self-styled Sikh preacher and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh and his associates in Punjab. Singh has been on the run for nearly two weeks now.
On Thursday, Singh, who is suspected to be in Hoshiarpur, said in a video that he was not a fugitive and would soon appear before the world. The video comes days after an audio clip came out on social media in which he debunked speculation that he was negotiating his surrender with Punjab Police.
