Pune Porsche Crash: Maharashtra Authorities Tear Down Unauthorised Resort Owned By Teen's Family In Mahabaleshwar

Authorities in Maharashtra demolished unauthorised constructions at a resort in Mahabaleshwar owned by the family of the juvenile involved in the Pune Porsche crash.

The administration in Maharashtra's Satara district demolished illegal structures on Saturday at a resort in Mahabaleshwar owned by the family of a 17-year-old boy allegedly involved in the Porsche crash in Pune, an official said. District officials used bulldozers to tear down unauthorised constructions at MPG Club, owned by the boy's family in the Malkam Peth area of Mahabaleshwar, the official said, news agency PTI reported.

The crash, which turned out on May 19 in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area, resulted in the deaths of two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh. The Porsche was allegedly driven by the juvenile in an inebriated condition.

The accident captured national attention due to efforts made to get the juvenile off the hook, resulting in the arrest of his father, grandfather, and others.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Ordered Satara Collector To Demolish Resort If Found Illegal

The bulldozer action of the administration came into effect days after Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ordered Satara collector Jitendra Dudi to take action against the resort if it was found to be illegal.

The establishment was sealed by the administration last week, according to the official, PTI reported.

The minor's mother and father are in jail for their alleged involvement in exchanging the blood samples taken to test alcohol consumption as part of the investigation, and the juvenile's grandfather is in judicial custody for allegedly kidnapping the family's driver and coercing him to accept responsibility for the Porsche crash.

Pune Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar reported on June 2 that the minor driver's mother was arrested for allegedly exchanging her blood sample for her son's. She informed the authorities that doctors at Sassoon General Hospital had advised her to provide her blood as a sample instead of her son's.

The police have registered three separate cases related to the accident, including one against the bar that served alcohol to the underage driver. Additionally, the boy's father is facing charges for allowing his son to drive without a valid license, adding further complexity to the legal proceedings surrounding the incident.
