Maharashtra's Home Minister, Dilip Walse Patil said that the legal process to suspend former Mumbai Police Commissioner, Param Bir Singh is underway, on Tuesday. He also said that action will be taken against Singh for using an official vehicle even after not being in charge of any department.

Param Bir Singh has a total of five FIRs against his name, out of which four are in extortion cases, while one is under the Atrocities Act. Singh met Sachin Waze, the dismissed assistant police officer on Monday at Old Secretariat Building in Fort, Mumbai.

Reacting on the alleged Waze-Singh meeting, Home Minister said, "Mumbai CP is instructed to conduct an inquiry into Param Bir Singh yesterday's meet with Sachin Waze, as an accused in judicial custody is not supposed to meet any co-accused."

Although Police Commissioner of Mumbai Bipin Kumar Singh said, "We do not have any information" on the alleged meeting between former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh & his former associate & sacked cop Sachin Vaze to ANI.

"Former Mumbai CP Param Bir Singh has not taken charge of any post since he has returned. Ideally, he should not use an official vehicle as he is not in charge of any department," he added.

Earlier, a Mumbai court ordered to cancel the non-bailable warrant issued against Param Bir Singh in an extortion case. Before that, The Chandiwal Commission, which was set up by the Maharashtra government to probe Singh's corruption allegations, canceled a bailable warrant against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh in connection with corruption allegations against former Maharashtra HM Anil Deshmukh.

The SC has granted Singh temporary protection from arrest. Singh had accused Deshmukh of making police officers collect Rs 100 crore a month from bars and restaurants in the city.
