Prashant Kishor Eyes Entry Into Bihar Assembly In 2025 With Jan Suraaj Party: Details

Prashant Kishor is preparing to enter the Bihar assembly elections by converting his Jan Suraaj campaign into a political party.

With eyes on Bihar assembly elections slated for next year, political consultant-turned-politician Prashant Kishor has decided to convert his Jan Suraaj campaign into a political party. Citing reason for a new option in Bihar, Kishor said that more than 50 per cent of people in Bihar are fed up with Lalu-Nitish and the Bharatiya Janata Party and are looking for a new option.

Naming his party Jan Suraaj (public good governance) after the campaign with the same name that he has been running for the last 18 months, Kishor will convert it into a political party on October 2 this year, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

"People want a new party or a new option in the state if there is to be any improvement in Bihar. This is because the public has been distressed by Lalu, Nitish, and the BJP for the past 30 years. The public sees that there is no improvement in their lives, but people are not sure whom to vote for," Kishor said.

He further said that an ordinary person cannot form a party alone. In this regard, "Jan Suraj is a campaign to unite the strength of the people and create an option that every individual is searching for."

"What we did for ten years in our lives was advising parties and leaders on how to organise their party, how to fight elections and win. The work we used to do for parties and leaders, we are now doing for the people of Bihar, how the people can come together and form a new party," he said.

"My advice made leaders win and the children of leaders win. Now, I believe that with my advice, the people of Bihar will win, and their lives will improve," he added.
