PM Modi Meets President Murmu At Rashtrapati Bhavan, Stakes Claim To Form NDA Government
PM Modi, along with NDA leaders, will meet President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhawan at 6 pm today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA is set to stake claim for government formation on Friday evening. PM Modi arrived at the Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet President Droupadi Murmu over the NDA government formation.
The president will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the prime minister and other members of the Union Council of Ministers at 7:15 pm on Sunday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the communique said.
Murmu handed over the letter of appointment to Modi, who called on her at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Friday evening.
The NDA delegation that called on Murmu was led by Nadda and included Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Ashwini Vaishnaw and C N Manjunath, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, JD(U) leaders Nitish Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Sanjay Jha, Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, LJP(RV) leader Chirag Paswan and others.
Earlier, the Varanasi MP met former President Ram Nath Kovind, Bharat Ratna and veteran BJP leader LK Advani and BJP vetern Murli Manohar Joshi.

He visited Advani soon after being chosen as the leader of the NDA parliamentary party, leader of the BJP parliamentary party and leader of the BJP in the Lok Sabha. After meeting Advani, he went to the residence of Joshi, a former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Subsequently, Modi also met former president Ram Nath Kovind.
PM Modi is scheduled to go to the Rashtrapati Bhawan at 6 pm today to call on President Droupadi Murmu for staking claim to form the government.
The NDA has 293 MPs in their camp, placing the ruling alliance comfortably above the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
