PM Modi To Flag Off Rajasthan's First Vande Bharat Train Today, Will Connect Ajmer To Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Rajasthan's first Vande Bharat Express via video conference today. The train will travel between Ajmer and Delhi Cantonment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching Rajasthan's first Vande Bharat Express via a videoconference on Wednesday (April 12) at 11 am, which will run on the Ajmer-Delhi Cantonment route. According to a press release by the prime minister's office (PMO), the train will arrive an hour earlier than the current fastest train on the route. The first run will connect Jaipur and Delhi Cantonment. Regular services between Ajmer and Delhi Cantonment will begin on Thursday, with stops in Jaipur, Alwar, and Gurugram.

Faster Than Shatabdi Express:

The train will take 5 hours and 15 minutes to travel from Delhi Cantonment to Ajmer. According to the release, the Shatabdi Express, the fastest train on this route at the moment, travels the distance in 6 hours and 15 minutes. The Vande Bharat Express from Ajmer to Delhi Cantonment will be the world's first semi-high speed passenger train on high-rise overhead electric territory.

Aims To Boost Region's Tourism:

The train will improve connectivity to Rajasthan's major tourist destinations, including Pushkar and Ajmer Dargah, as well as boost the region's socioeconomic development, according to the announcement.

The Vande Bharat Express service in Rajasthan is a significant advancement towards modernising India's railway system and promoting the country's 'Make in India' initiative. The train is proof of India's engineering prowess and technological progress. This new addition to India's railway network will provide passengers travelling between Rajasthan's major tourist destinations with a comfortable fast mode of transportation, as well as serve as a symbol of the country's rapid development.
