'Lord Ram Source Of Inspiration For Indian Constitution': PM Modi During Mann Ki Baat

During his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi said Lord Ram's governance was a source of inspiration for the Constitution.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat, said that the Constitution was inspired by the rule of Lord Ram. He said, "The Constitution of India is made after such intense brainstorming, that it is called a 'Living Document'.  In the third chapter of the original copy of the constitution, the fundamental rights of the citizens of Bharat have been described. It is very interesting that at the beginning of the third chapter, the makers of the constitution had given a place to images of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, and Lakshman ji. The governance of Lord Ram was also a source of inspiration for constitution makers", he added.

Several Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including national party president JP Nadda, MP Ravi Shankar Prasad and Union MoS Nityanand Rai. In the first ‘Mann Ki Baat’ of the year, he said that 2024 marks 75 years of the Constitution and the Supreme Court.

He further said that was pleased to know that the entire country lit ‘Ram Jyoti’ on January 22 and celebrated the day just like Diwali. In his broadcast, PM Modi said many people honoured with Padma awards recently were those who worked at grassroots and away from limelight to make big changes.

"I am very happy that the system of Padma awards has transformed completely in the last decade. Now it has become people's Padma," he said

The prime minister spoke about THE ‘Pran Pratishtha' ceremony in Ayodhya and stated that it brought crores of people in the country together. “With similar feelings, similar devotion, Ram is in everyone's words, and Ram is in everyone's hearts. During this time, many people sang Ram Bhajan and dedicated them to Shri Ram. On the evening of 22 January, the entire country lit Ram Jyoti and celebrated Diwali. The nation witnessed a collective power, which also forms the basis of our pledge of developed Bharat”, the prime minister added.

PM Modi talked about the Republic Day parade and said that it was “amazing” and that women’s power was talked about the most.

“When women contingents of the Central Security Forces and the Delhi Police started marching on the Kartavya Path, everyone experienced a sense of pride... This time, out of the 20 marching contingents in the parade, 11 were women contingents. In the tableaux, all artists were also women. 1500 daughters took part in cultural programs. Many female artists were also playing Indian musical instruments like conch shells, nadaswaram, and nagda.”

He further added that the DRDO's tableau also grabbed people’s attention as it showed how women power is protecting the country in every field, be it water, land, air, cyber or space.
