PM Modi Red Fort Speech Highlights: In his 2023 Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi showcased his government's achievements while introducing an initiative aimed at empowering skilled labourers and craftsmen. The Prime Minister announced the forthcoming launch of the 'Vishwakarma Yojana,' set to coincide with the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Puja.
Highlighting his government's commitment to harnessing India's rich traditional expertise, Prime Minister Modi revealed that the 'Vishwakarma Yojana' would serve as a significant step towards recognizing and uplifting skilled labourers and craftsmen across the nation. The scheme seeks to help workers such as barbers, tanners, and blacksmiths.
Addressing the nation from the Red Fort, PM Modi said, "In the coming months, we will launch the Vishwakarma Yojana for those who work with their tools, such as goldsmiths, ironsmiths, washermen, hairdressers, and masons who mostly come from the OBC section."
Prime Minister Modi, in his 10th Independence Day speech from the Red Fort, stated that the 'Vishwakarma Yojana' would start with a budget allocation of Rs 13,000 to 15,000 crore. This investment is poised to drive economic growth and social progress among individuals possessing traditional skills.

Addressing the nation in his Independence Day speech, Modi proclaimed that India would be among the top three economies in the next five years.
“When we came to power in 2014, we were in the 10th position in the global economic system. Today, with the efforts of 140 crore Indians, we have reached the fifth position. This did not happen just like that. The demon of corruption had the country in its clutches. We stopped leakages and created a strong economy,” he said.
