Plane Crashes Into Temple In MP's Rewa, Pilot Killed

The pilot of the plane died while another was injured in the accident.

A pilot died and another was injured after a plane crashed into a temple in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district late at night on Thursday during training. 

"A pilot died while another was injured after a plane crashed into a temple in Rewa district during the training," ANI quoted Rewa SP Navneet Bhasin as saying.

The incident occurred late at night on Thursday which killed the pilot and left the trainee pilot severely injured. Police were informed at night that a plane has crashed in Umri village in Rewa after it hit the dome of a temple. The plane belonged to Falcon Aviation Academy which is operating a pilot training institute for years.

A video showing the aftermath of the accident is also doing rounds on social media.

According to villagers, the incident happened at around 11:30 PM on Thursday. The pilot has been identified as Captain Vimal Kumar who was flying the plane with trainee pilot Sonu Yadav (22). According to the preliminary investigation report, Captain Vimal could not see the temple's dome due to fog which led to the fatal crash.

The pilot died on the spot while the trainee pilot was severely injured and was admitted to a hospital in Rewa.
